Ricky Rubio and Spain rallied past Tunisia

Ricky Rubio was the best player of Spain (17 points, nine assists) and led his team past Tunisia in the Basketball World Cup opener (101-62).

Five more players scored in double figures for the winners, with Sergio Llull finishing the game with 16 points.

Salah Mejri and Mohamed Hadidane were the best players of the losing squad, with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Tunisia made a better start and quickly earned a double-digit lead (19-29). However, the Spaniards went on a 12-0 run and never looked back (31-29).

Playing very well on both ends, they outscored Tunisia 59-23 in the second half and cruised to an easy victory.

Spain will clash with Puerto Rico on Monday, while Tunisia will battle Iran.
