The Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr offered some interesting thoughts on the joy of coaching, Warriors’ offseason and the beauty of basketball:

Per Mercury News: “I’m looking to grow as a coach. I’ve got one of the greatest jobs in the world no matter who is playing for us. Coaching basketball in the NBA is so much fun. I’m excited for every season. It just happens that this is probably the biggest change we’ve had since I’ve been here.

You have to do that if you have special players that are not only great and talented players, but are foundational pieces and people who set a culture and establish a mindset. This summer was painful in many ways losing the guys that we did. But it was reassuring in the sense that we brought back some key guys that will help us get to that next era.

The beauty of the sport is it’s not the five best players who win. It’s the five who fit together that gives you the best chance to win. I’m looking forward to that challenge in finding the right combinations and young guys who will get a good opportunity,” Kerr said.
