According to Ben Stinar of Amico Sports, the Bucks are giving 7’3″ (2.21 m) center Hasheem Thabeet a shot at returning to the NBA, as he has a workout scheduled for next week.

The second overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft has reportedly trained heavily over the past year and has gotten comments from NBA teams that he is in great shape.

Thabeet has been labeled as a draft bust after averaging 2.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in five seasons in the NBA with four different teams: the Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers and Oklahoma City Thunder.

He was drafted ahead of players like James Harden, Stephen Curry and DeMar DeRozan.

It’s unclear how he would fit in with the Bucks, as they already have twins Brook and Robin Lopez at the center position.

However, in a 2016 interview, Kevin Durant said that his former Thunder teammate would get another shot at the NBA someday.

“He’s one of the hardest workers and by far one of the best people that I know,” said Durant. He’s one of the best teammates I’ve ever had. He’ll get a shot again. He’s being patient. Rim protectors always come back around. He’ll get a shot.”
