With Italy for eight years, Carlo Recalcati is ready to remain one more year with the "Azurri". The contract of the 64-year-old was to end in September, but the Italian federation decided to extend it depending on the results achieved this summer.
Italy is yet to qualify for Eurobasket 2009, as it will play the additional round in group B with Finland and France.
Despite some criticism, especially in the last few years, Recalcati's reign is one of the longest in Europe and he conquered a bronze medal for the Italians in Eurobasket 2003 and a silver one at the Olympic Games the following year for the Italians.
