After two fruitful years of collaboration, which led to the country's biggest success, the ninth spot in Eurobasket 2009, Head Coach Jovica Arsic and the FYROM Basketball Federation decided not to continue together.
FYROM's only other participation on a major international tournament was in 1999 when they finished 13nth (out of 16), going winningless against Yugoslavia, France and Israel.
