Panathinaikos president, Manos Papadopoulos, referred to the club’s relationship with Zeljko Obradovic and Sarunas Jasikevicius.
Here is what the Greek executive said in an interview withe the Greek website SDNA.gr:
“I don’t want to say if there was an effort to bring Obradovic or Jasikevicius. What I can say is that some things can’t be done.
It’s not possible. You can try to do something, where there’s a contract with no opt-out clauses. If they were free agents, we would make our effort. But for those specific persons, the “effort” is something different.
We have such a great personal relationship, we always talk and we are friends. They belong and they will always be part of Panathinaikos family.
And I want to believe that both of them will return to Panathinaikos. I don’t know in what capacity. They are close to Panathinaikos, but the fans can’t ask for something that can’t be done.”
