Ramunas Siskauskas announced his retirement from the national team. 29-year-old small forward was named Euroleague MVP last season. Siskauskas is considered as the best player in the world outside NBA after his recent achievements.

"Siska", as he is known among Lithuanian basketball fans, started his international career in 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. His debut was marked with a bronze medal.

In 2003 Siskauskas helped his country to take gold in European Basketball Championship in Sweden. It was also a very successful personal performance by him as he got an award from NBA legend Larry Bird.

There was one competition that Ramunas Siskauskas decided to miss and take a rest. He didn't join the team for 2006 World Championship in Japan where Lithuania finished 7th.

Last year Siska helped the national team to bring Eurobasket bronze from Spain. Apparently it was his last medal won playing for Lithuania.
