United StatesUSA national team managing director Jerry Colangelo announced the final 12-player squad for the Beijing Olympic Games. The brightest star on the team is NBA MVP award winner Kobe Bryant. Half of the team played in FIBA World Championship 2006 in Japan.


United States will play five friendly games before Olympics. They will face Canada, Turkey, Lithuania, Russia and Australia.

Americans will face Angola, China, Spain and two teams from additional qualifying tournament in Group B in Olympics.
