Rudy: I don’t like to be labeled as a shooter

Rudy Fernandez talked to the ACB website, primarily claiming that he is more than just a shooter even though that is his primary role in the team, while he also talked about his relationship with Nate McMillan and the injury of Greg Oden.

About his role in the team:

“I don’t like to be labeled as a shooter. Yes, that’s what I do, but it is because it fulfills my role. I also like to pass the ball or go straight to the basket.”

About the minutes he gets:

“It depends on who is good or not. If I start good, it is easier to continue on the floor. And if I fail, it is much more difficult. It is the role I have. The role of a perimeter player that basically has to exploit that. I have to take the minutes that I get and if I have the luck to be positive, stay more on the floor.”

About his relationship with McMillan:

“My attitude is positive. I am helping the team as good as I can, regardless if from the bench or on the floor. I have gained a lot in communication with the rest.”

About the injury of Oden:

“ It’s been a huge blow, because despite being a good player, Oden is also a great person. He helped me a lot in my time here. It was bad luck and it is clear that it hurts both him and the team. He is someone that could give us a lot.”
