Lithuanian sharp shooter Arvydas Macijauskas decided to end his career at the age of 30 due to spinal ganglia. Macas hasn’t played for two years since the trial between and him and his last club Olympiacos began. The Reds won the trial and were allowed to terminate the contract without paying a compensation.
Recently Macijauskas was training individually in USA. He was very keen on returning to the national team this year. The player was included in the list of national team’s candidates and was set to start playing with the ‘B’ squad.
However, it later turned out that the only way for him to return to pro basketball is to undergo a surgery and the whole rehabilitation period. That would mean he will be able play again in around one year. Eurobasket 2003 champion decided that it wasn’t worth waiting for so long.
