Rumors: the LA Lakers to reportedly pursue Kawhi Leonard in free agency

According to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer, the Los Angeles Lakers “will pursue” the Toronto Raptors small forward and free-agent-to-be Kawhi Leonard this offseason:

“To even have a shot at Walker (Kemba) – or any other pricey free agent – the Lakers will have to wait to officially complete this deal. If it were to go through before July 6, the Lakers wouldn’t be able to create the $32.7 million necessary to sign Walker or another max free agent, such as Kawhi Leonard, who league sources say the Lakers will pursue.”

Last regular season, Leonard averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists, while shooting at 49 percent from the floor. Meanwhile, in playoffs he averaged 30.5 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.
