Calderon talks about racism controversy

ImageJose Calderon, starter playmaker of Spanish National Team has talked in his blog (www.josemanuelcalderon.com) about the recent controversy generated in English newspapers after a photo where Spanish NT members were the poses with their finger pulling on their eyes, as if they were Asian people. (quotes inside).

"The sponsor asked as to pose by this way, as a wink to our participation in Beijing Olympics Games. We thought this was something that fit with the situation, as a affectionate gesture, but some European media have not interpret the gesture by this way".

"I want to say we have a great respect for Asia and its people, some of my best friends in Toronto have Chinese origins and the sponsor of our clothes is Li Ning, a Chinese Brand. If anybody wants to interpret any other things is absolutely wrong."
