Kemba Walker could take less than supermax deal to stay with Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets point guard and free-agent-to-be Kemba Walker can earn a supermax contract extension from Charlotte that pays him $221.3 million over five years.

Walker was asked if he would take less than the supermax deal to help the Hornets to build a winning team:

“Yeah, I would take less. Sure, why not. I would take less,” Walker said.

Last season, the 29-year-old averaged 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game.
