Mirsad Turkcan suffered a serious injury during the Turkish Cup Final Fenerbace-Besiktas that is under way at the moment.
Almost halfway through the last quarter Turkcan went for a drive against Besiktas’ defence and that was that. He mistakenly stepped on Ogilvy’s foot and something snapped in his knee and the player fell on the floor crying for help.
He was immediately offered medical assistance and was taken out of the court and to a hospital.
According to the Turkish TV channel commentators the preliminary diagnosis is ruptured knee ligaments. The player will certainly go through a surgery and could need up to nine months to resume playing. It is unlikely he will play again during the current season.
For the record, Fenerbahce won the game 81-72 .
