Olympiacos has decided to forfeit the match against Panathinaikos on Monday (20/05) and will not compete in the Greek playoffs.

The “Reds” made this decision, after the referees Tasos Manou and Panagiotis Anastopooulos were selected to officiate the match against the “Greens”.

The decision was announced by the owner of the club, Giorgos Aggelopoulos. Consequently, Olympiacos will not only lose the game, but will be relegated to the second division.

Anastopoulos and Manos were two of the three referees of the Greek Cup semi-final between Panathinaikos and Olympiacos on February 13. Olympiacos had forfeited the game in protest of the referees’ decisions.

The “Reds” had also stated that the team will forfeit any game in the domestic competitions, if the match is officiated by Anastopoulos, Manos and Panagiotou.
