In an interview with TalkBasket.net after Saturday’s practice, Fenerbahce leader Kostas Sloukas talked about the heavy defeat to Anadolu Efes (73-92):
Here is what the Greek guard said:
On the heavy loss in the semi-final: “Nothing went well for us. Micic and Larkin were unstoppable, Anadolu Efes played excellent, whereas we were not in our best condition.
Our defensive plan did not work out the way we wanted to and so we easily lost in the third and the fourth quarter.”
On whether the injuries to key players affected the team’s mentality: “We don’t want to use injuries as an excuse. We suffered a heavy defeat and did not deserve to end the EuroLeague that way. However, the injuries certainly affected our mentality.”
