Prior to Saturday’s practice, Real Madrid center Walter Tavares spoke with TalkBasket.net about the painful loss to CSKA Moscow (95-90).

Here is what the center of the “Whites” said:

On what went wrong in the semi-final: “We gave them many free throws in the fourth quarter, they came back and that cost us the victory. They kept fighting until the end, but we should have kept the lead and won the game.”

On Sunday’s third place game: “It doesn’t matter to us, but we have to play, get over Friday’s loss and win the game.”

On his performance: “I played well, but could have played better. I tried to not get fouls, but they easily called fouls on me. I tried to play defence and not get fouls, but they always called a foul on me.”
