Fenrbahce Ulker won its first Turkish league title in three years after defeating arch rivals Efes Pilsen 71-56 in Game 6 of TBL Finals. Mirsad Turkcan and Roko-Leni Ukic for the top scorers for the winners with 16 and 15 points respectively.
Meanwhile, Charles Smith was the only player to score in double digits for Efes Pilsen as he had 15 points. Bostjan Nachbar who is likely to leave Istanbul in summer, added 8 points.
The future of Efes Pilsen is uncertain after the Turkish government is likely to pass a new law which bans alcohol and tobacco manufacturers supporting sports organizations. Turkish media has previously reported that Efes Pilsen are already in talks with Partizan about a possible support. CSKA Moscow is quoted as their second option for investment.
