BBL Team of the Week #29

Reggie BrattonThe star of the show this week is Worthing Thunder’s Reggie Bratton (pictured), whose 41 point performance against Airwaves Plymouth Raiders helped seal the Thunder a spot in the Playoffs in their second season in the league. The American, who is currently second in the league in scoring behind Sheffield’s Mike Cook, shot an outstanding 6/7 from behind the arc, netted all three of this free throw attempts, and pulled down 9 rebounds, as well as working hard defensively for 3 steals and a blocked shot.

He is joined at the forward position by Dawud Morris, of Marshall MK Lions. Morris, who like Bratton is in his first year in the league, hit 30 points in the Lions’ win over PAWS London Capital, on 11/16 shooting from the field, and 8/9 from the charity stripe. He also had 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals.

Trey Moore (Everton Tigers) and Worcester’s Roderick Middleton, take the guard spots this week, as the former hit 90% of his attempts from open play and 50% from the three point line, on his way to 32 points in the Tigers dramatic victory over Glasgow Rocks. Middleton, whose season is sadly over with the Wolves as they failed to qualify for the Playoffs, scored 26 points, pulled down 8 boards, and handed out 5 assists, whilst also taking 3 steals and shooting an efficient 60% from the floor, as he finished the Wolves’ win over Guildford Heat with 26 points personal.

At Centre is Giedrius Knysas, of the Worcester Wolves. The former PAWS London Capital big man posted impressive numbers of 22 points, on 10/11 field goal shooting, and grabbed 8 rebounds in just 22:45 on court, as Paul James’ side beat Airwaves Plymouth Raiders on Saturday evening.
