Ahead of Game 1 against Panathinaikos on Wedesday night (17/04), Real Madrid head coach Pablo Laso commented on whether he has a special plan on stopping Nick Calathes.

“If Calathes gets 50 points, 25 assists and 25 rebounds and we win then I’ll take it. However, if he makes those numbers it will be difficult for us to win. Talking about one player is absurd.

Calathes is, if not the best, then one of the best players in Europe but nobody is bigger than the team itself. In the end, this is Real Madrid– Panathinaikos and it’s absurd to think of players over the teams,” Laso said, per Marca.

The “Whites” will play without Sergio Llull, who may miss the series due to injury. On the other hand, the participation of the “Greens” power forward/center James Gist will be a game-time decision.
