In an interview with Dario Ronzulli of the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Marco Belinelli confirmed he will play for Italy in the 2019 World Cup.

“After we qualified I spoke with Gianni Petrucci (president of Italian Basket Federation) and with (Romeo) Sacchetti a few day ago.

I discussed with my teammates as well. We are all happy. We know the bar is high now. Our dream is to achieve something important with the National Team. I confirm my participation,” the Italian forward said.

Belinelli last played for the national team in the 2017 EuroBasket. He averaged 10.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists with the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA this season.
