Karl Schweitzer was elected President of the ÖBL (Austrian Basketball League) last September replacing Norbert Steger. The executive has a clear image of what he wants to achieve during his tenure.
"We have made a good progress in the last years, and our main goal, right now, is walking towards becoming a professional league; we started as an amateur championship, but we in the future we want to be more competitive internationally, so, we would like to create a license-league".
Karl Schweitzer explains that: "We are currently talking with the clubs and now we must take decissions, both on the short and on the long term, which lead us to become a professional league like other countries in Europe"
