Donovan Mitchell on Rudy Gobert: “I think he should be Defensive Player of the Year”

The Utah Jazz shooting guard Donovan Mitchell thinks big man Rudy Gobert should be 2019 Defensive Player of the Year.

“Rudy, obviously, definitely deserves it. I think he should be Defensive Player of the Year again, there’s no doubt in my mind. There’s no doubt in my mind he’ll win the award, as well,” Mitchell said, per the Salt Lake Tribune.

Gobert was named 2018 Defensive Player of the Year.

This season, the 26-year-old center is averaging 15.7 points, 12.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.3 blocks per game.
