Jets ready to face the Thunder

BBL ChampionshipAfter a tough game against the in-form Worcester Wolves on Saturday evening, the Cheshire Jets face the Worthing Thunder at home, as the Thunder also come into the game off the back of a challenging encounter against PAWS London Capital, who will be looking to get back to winning ways after a 102-54 mauling at Marshall MK Lions.

As with many fixtures, although the history books would predict that the Jets will have this one; it is well and truly unpredictable. Paul Smith, the Head Coach of the Jets, identified high scoring import Reggie Bratton as the main potential threat for the Thunder. He also emphasised the fact that some of the Thunder's injured players will be returning action, as a key factor in the outcome of the game: 'The Thunder are starting to get some of their injured players back, and they are an all round great hustling team' he said: '(Reggie) Bratton can put up some amazing numbers so it will be very tough.'

Thunder supremo Dave Titmuss urged his side to step up a gear on the perimeter, as well as establishing a more powerful inside presence. He explained: 'I think, fully fit, we match-up well against both London and Cheshire but we'll need improved perimeter play on Saturday and a greater inside presence on Sunday, if we are to win either game.'

Sunday's second game is between the Guildford Heat and Airwaves Plymouth Raiders, and Heat player- coach Chad McKnight warned his side and fans to watch out for big pair Matthew Hilleary and Florentino Valencia: ' I think Plymouth are going to be a good team like always, they always play tough and scrappy. Matthew Hilleary is averaging seventeen points a game so we will have to look to slow him down. Also Florentino Valencia has been playing well for them so we need to do a job on him as well' he added: 'To win against the Raiders we will have to play tough defense and control the game on offense.'
