Popular Frenchman flies back into Worcester

Worcester WolvesCoach Chuck Evans has secured the continued services of 6' 7" forward Harry Disy ahead of the 2009/10 BBL Championship season.

The native of Fort-de-France is renowned for his athleticism and hustle. Before joining the Wolves last season, Disy played one season of professional basketball in with French Pro B, top of the table team, JL Bourg Basket. Prior to his rookie professional season, Disy had an NCAA Division 1 career which included a fine senior season with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs of the Western Athletic Conference. He posted very respectable statistics of 7 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game in what is a very competitive conference.

Last season at Worcester Disy played in 35 games and racked up over 1000 minutes on court (one of only four Wolves players to do so). He averaged over 30 minutes per game on court. He scored 14.7 points per game and pulled down an average of 7.6 rebounds per outing. The Frenchman also featured in the final round of the BBL Slam Dunk Competition at the NIA. His return will bring an extra dimension to Coach Evans' arsenal.

Wolves Head Coach Chuck Evans said, "Harry was a top priority this summer to resign for the 09/10 season but decided to play in France. Following the French team's financial problems, we were able to bring Harry back. I guess our patience in waiting on the right inside player was certainly a virtue! Maybe it was divine intervention, I don't know? But all of us in Worcester are delighted to have Harry return. He is held in high regard as a person and player. Harry also decided to utilise the University of Worcester scholarship program like his teammates Skouson Harker, Vidmantas Uzkuraitis and Kenny Saunders."
