Panathinaikos still alive in the playoff race

Panathinaikos decimated Darussafaka on the road (67-91) and earned its third straight win to boost its chances to advance to the playoffs.

The “Greens” had control of the game from the opening tip and led by as many as 15 points in the first half (29-44). Yet, the Turks remained competitive and cut the deficit to nine at halftime (37-46).

The visitors, though, were unstoppable in the second half and went on a 16-31 run to take a 24-point lead (53-77) and seal the deal.

Four players scored in double figures for the winners, as Ioannis Papapetrou had a game-high 18 points.

Toney Douglas (14 points), Zanis Peiners (12 points) and Michael Eric (11 points) stood out for the losing squad.

Panathinaikos improved to 12-13, whereas Darussafaka dropped to 3-22.
