Last Sunday, the Houston Rockets extended their winning streak to 6 games with a 95-107 away victory over the Toronto Raptors – their streak of consecutive wins is now the longest in the league. Once again, guard James Harden was influential in their victory, racking up points on the scoreboard alongside fellow guard Eric Gordon.

This weekend, a home game against the 76ers is on the cards, and it’s set to be an exciting match-up. The Rockets are currently placed at 3rd seed in the Western Conference, whilst the 76ers are sitting in 4th place in the East.

The last time these two franchises met was in January, and it was Philly who came out the victors with a 121-93 scoreline. It seems that the Rockets have found their form in the lead up to this weekend’s game however – Chris Paul and Clint Capela have returned from injury and with them back in the Rockets’ lineup, their prospects for the remainder of this season look to be even more positive as we get ever closer to the Playoffs in April. And with 24-year old Joel Embiid still looking doubtful for the 76ers, this only strengthens the Rockets advantage.

Harden has once again been key to the Houston side’s success this season, as he came in clutch, scoring 5 points to extend the Rockets’ lead to 12 points before he was fouled out with less than two minutes on the clock against the Celtics last Sunday, then scoring 19 points in the final 10 minutes against the Raptors on Wednesday. The Californian added 42 points to the Rockets’ scoreboard against the Celtics, and then scored 35 points in the Rockets midweek victory over Toronto. With an average of 36.7 points per game this season, currently the highest in the league, Harden is only adding to the his claim on a second successive MVP title at the end of this season.
