ASVEL Villeurbanne and Valencia protected their home court

ASVEL Villeurbanne and Valencia defeated Andorra and Rytas Vilnius, respectively, and now are one win away from the semi-finals of the EuroCup.

Villeurbanne came back from a 10-point deficit in the first half (34-44) and took the upper hand. Although the Spaniards attempted to turn things around, they did not reclaim the lead and they were defeated (79-75).

Captain Charles Kahudi led the winners with a game-high 21 points, whereas Moussa Diagne had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the losing squad.

Game 2 will take place in Spain on Friday (08/03).

In the other match, Valencia outscored Rytas Vilnius 49-34 in the second half and rallied past their opponents at home (75-64).

Matt Thomas led the winners with 15 points and Fernando San Emeterio, Alberto Abalde and Aaron Doornekamp scored 10 points apiece.

D.J. Seeley and Deividas Sirvydis had 11 points apiece for the losing squad, with Artsiom Parakhouski and Mindaugas Girdziunas posting 10 points each for the Lithuanians.

Game 2 will be played in Vilnius on Friday (08/03).
