Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic became the last two national teams that secured their ticket to the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Puerto Rico claimed a hard-fought victory over Uruguay at home (65-61) and returns to the Basketball World Cup for the 14th time.

In addition, the Dominican Republic will also travel to China, despite the loss to Brazil (71-63).

The Carribean team and Uruguay ended the Qualifiers with identical records (7-5), but the Dominican Republic had the tie-breaker in favour of them and, consequently, they secured their spot to the World Cup as the best fourth team of groups E and F.
