Paul George shared his thoughts with the media on what it’s like to be selected as an All-Star and what he expects from the All-Star Game in Charlotte.

On the All-Star Game…

“We will play a little traditional two big, three guards with what Giannis has going on. But at the end of the day, we’re going to have fun. Giannis plays the game hard, even during all-star games. As the captain, I’m sure he’s going to come out and try to guard and lock up everybody. So I am looking forward to the matchup.”

On the All-Star trade between Russell Westbrook and Ben Simmons…

“I told Russ I was going to lock him up. He’s lucky he’s on my side.”

On being selected as an All-Star…

“When I got traded here, people thought it was going to be the end of me an all-star. Coming out to the west. But… God is good. I’m completely honoured and grateful, not only for the state of Oklahoma but for the world for voting. Can’t thank the fans enough for being in my corner and behind me all season long.

“After I got injured, I never doubted. I knew things were limited. I knew my game was going to be altered. But I never quit on the idea of chasing that dream of being one of the best players. I never quit that dream. In retrospect, it was almost a wakeup call to be happy and thankful every time I step on the floor.”
