Following controversy in yesterday’s EuroLeague game between Barcelona and Zalgiris, EuroLeague analysed no calls from the referees in the last two minutes of the game.

The result confirmed that the referees did not call two fouls against Brandon Davies. As reported, Zalgiris head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius was furious with the way the referees did their job in this particular case.

Below is an official statement of EuroLeague Basketball:

In the fourth quarter with 1:57 in left on the game clock, Edgaras Ulanovas of Zalgiris Kaunas missed a field goal. Brandon Davies of Zalgiris Kaunas succeeded in capturing the offensive rebound, being subsequently fouled on the left arm by Kevin Pangos of FC Barcelona Lassa. This was an incorrect no call, which should have been called as a personal foul on Kevin Pangos, resulting in two free throws for Brandon Davies as FC Barcelona Lassa were already in the team foul penalty situation.

Immediately following this action, Brandon Davies attempted a dunk, and as he was in the act of shooting was fouled on the right arm by Adam Hanga of FC Barcelona Lassa. This, too, was an incorrect no call, which should have been called as a personal foul on Adam Hanga, resulting in two free throws for Brandon Davies.
