EuroLeague CEO Jordi Bertomeu spoke with RMC Sport’s ‘Buzzer’ about the possibility of a second French team (after ASVEL) joining the league.

Here is what the experienced executive said:

“France is very important for basketball Europe. A second team from France will make sense only if it’s in Paris. I think it’s not gonna happen in the next three or four years, but in the future.

The league has already proven that is very flexible. When we have a solid project in Paris, when we have an arena in Paris, then it will be time to open up a conversation about a second [French] team in EuroLeague.

Our vision is to have a good arena, the right structure, and the right ownership. That’s also our plan for London,” Bertomeu mentioned.
