Anadolu Efes head coach Ergin Ataman confirmed that the Turkish club attempted to sign Milos Teodosic in December.

Here is what the experienced coach told the Turkish channel Tivibuspor:

“One and a month ago, Shane Larkin’s agents told us that an NBA team wants him. Larkin couldn’t play the way he wanted here and he is a young player who has a dream to go back to NBA.

We told them: “If we are going to let Larkin go, they must offer us a player that fills his spot”. They offered us Teodosic. Larkin wanted to do that in order to chase his NBA dream and they told us Teodosic wants to play for Efes.

We’d accept that offer, only if it wouldn’t bring us more financial load. But I think the team that wants Larkin gave up. Also, even though Clippers weren’t using Teodosic, they wanted to use him in trades. This didn’t come from us, it came from agents in order to make the players (Larkin and Teodosic) happy.”

Coach Ataman also added that his team will not add a player to the roster: “We are not considering a transfer right now. There is no need to affect the team’s balance when the team is going well.”
