Per Basquet Plus, the 2019 FIBA Intercontinental Cup will be contested in a Final Four format and will take place in Brazil in mid-February.
According to the report, Basketball Champions League champions, AEK Athens, FIBA Americas Champion, San Lorenzo, G League Champions, the Austin Spurs and Flamengo will participate in the tournament.
It is the first time since the competition’s reintroduction in 2013 that the Intercontinental Cup will be held under a Final Four format.
The venue of the event will be the Carioca Arena in Rio de Janeiro and the tournament will take place on February 16-17.
The official announcement by FIBA is expected shortly.
