Monaco victorious over Partizan in Belgrade

Monaco endured Partizan’s comeback and claimed the first victory on the road in Group E (68-72).

The visitors took control from the opening tip (13-21, 17-28) and were in front by 14 at halftime (26-40). Monaco kept playing very well on both ends (28-45) and led by as many as 21.

But, the hosts attempted to turn things around and cut the deficit to five (64-69), with two minutes remaining.

Yet, Derek Needham (10 point, six assists) made a clutch three and sealed the deal for the French squad.

Jarrod Jones led the winners with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Paul Lacombe added 12 points and Eric Buckner 11 points and seven boards.

Aleksej Nikolic had 16 points and five assists for the Serbians, with Jock Landale adding 14 points and seven rebounds.

Monaco improved to 2-1, whereas Partizan dropped to 1-2.

In the other two matches, Unicaja Malaga (2-1) kept Limoges winless in the Top 16 (0-3), thanks to a 79-72 win at home, while Andorra (3-0) rallied past Zenit St Petersburg (1-2) on the road (71-80).
