A 26-13 run in the first quarter helped Unicaja Malaga defeat Crvena Zvezda at home (79-74) and earn its first win in Top 16.

The hosts had a 14-point lead in the first half (51-37), yet the visitors turned things around in the second half and attempted to make a come-back.

Despite being down by 18 (57-39), the Serbians went on a 16-33 run and cut the deficit to one point (73-72), with 64 seconds to go.

Yet, the Spaniards stood tall and sealed their victory from the free-throw line.

Six players scored in double figures for the winners, as Mathias Lessort had a team-high 16 points.

Stratos Perperoglou had a game-high 23 points (7/11 shooting) for the losing squad, with Ognjen Dobric adding 13 points.

Both teams now have identical records (1-1).

In the other two matches, Villeurbanne survived Ulm at home (93-89) and Lokomotiv Kuban dominated Fraport Skyliners on the road (69-92).
