A feature-length documentary regarding the legendary Harlem Globetrotter, Jumpin’ Johnny Kline, will officially premiere on January 24.

Per the official press release:

“The world premiere screening of the documentary, which tells the tale of Dr. Kline and his story of addiction, recovery and ultimate rebirth will take place in Nashville, TN in three weeks (January 24).

Dr. John Kline, “Jumpin’ Johnny”, was a high-leaping basketball player for the Harlem Globetrotters (1953-1959), who founded the Black Legends of Professional Basketball in 1996.

Struggling with addiction during the end of his playing days, Kline went on to seek recovery, earn a bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D., and work with youth in schools and drug programs.”

Dr. Kline was recently named a finalist for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
