Panathinaikos new head coach, Rick Pitino, arrived in Athens on Wednesday (28/12) and stated he is ready to take over the “Greens”.
Here is what the 66-year-old coach told the media:
“I’m excited to be here. It’s the first time in 41 years as a coach that I will take up a team in the middle of the season.
I have signed with Panathinaikos and I am ready for the challenge. We have a practice at 5 in the afternoon. Shooting is a weakness that we have to look at and we have to cover up.
We have a negative record and we have to work on it. We can not change too many things. In 48 hours we play with CSKA. We must try out defense that the opponent will not expect.”
