After a solid home win over Efes (102-84), CSKA guard Sergio Rodriguez thinks his team is getting better from game to game.
The Spanish playmaker also had a jubilee as he’s now one of five players to achieve 1000 assists in the Euroleague.
”It was a great victory. Efes is playing very good during the whole year, they’re playing with a lot of confidence. The same confidence they showed in the first half, scoring a lot of threes and playing very free. But we have a very solid team, we’re showing every game we’re getting better.
I think the game with Fener was a good one, too. Even if we lost. We had a few minutes we didn’t play the way that we were playing, but for another 35 minutes we had an excellent game.
Today we tried to make them tired. The defence we had today in the second half was a key. A lot of players coming from the bench are playing good. We’re happy, but we know it’s still December. It’s a long way. There’s one more game to end up the first half of the season, let’s keep working.
A thousand assists? I didn’t know, they just told me. Those are things you don’t pay much attention to, but it’s important to have, too. For many years I’m playing in Euroleague, at the highest level in Europe, it’s very important. I hope to get another thousand,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez now stays with 1002 assists. Thomas Heurtel has 1073, Milos Teodosic 1126, Dimitris Diamantidis is second with 1255 dishes. The king is Vassilis Spanoulis who has 1354 and is still playing.
