AEK Athens claims its eighth straight win in the BCL

AEK Athens edged Nymburk at home (80-76) and extended its winning streak to eight games to remain on top of Group C.

The defending champions saw their opponents end the first half in front by three (29-32), yet they turned things around in the second half and outscored them 51-44 to seal the deal.

The visitors remained competitive for 40 minutes, yet they came up short in the end and were defeated.

Dusan Sakota and Vince Hunter led the winners with 18 points, as Jonas Maciulis added 15.

On the other hand, five players scored in double figures for the losing squad, with Glenn Cosey having a team-high 13 points.

AEK Athens improved to 8-1, whereas Nymburk dropped to 2-7.

In the other matches, Brose Bamberg (6-3) escaped from Dijon (2-7) with a big victory (97-101), as Virtus Bologna (7-2) lost for a second straight time in the competition [to Oostende (4-5), 77-76].
