USA edged Uruguay, secured their ticket to the World Cup

A 6-22 run in the last six minutes of the game gave the United States the victory over Uruguay (70-78) and the qualification to the World Cup.

Although the hosts were in front by eight (64-56), the visitors came back and improved their overall performance to turn things around. They went on a 6-22 run and never looked back to win the game.

Travis Trice led the winners, with 17 points, as Eric Moreland added 10 points and 13 rebounds.

On the other hand, Bruno Fitipaldo posted 17 points for the losing squad, with Luciano Parodi contributing 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

USA were victorious for the eighth time in the Qualifiers (8-2) and secured their place to the World Cup.

Uruguay are now tied with Puerto Rico (6-4) and have to beat them on February 25 to qualify to the World Cup.
