England rugby star Anthony Watson thrashes Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi to reach the final of the NBA2K19 Gaming Tournament

· Anthony Watson, playing as the Washington Wizards, defeated Shkodran Mustafi’s Utah Jazz 39-19 · The Bath and England star will now face Tottenham’s Fernando Llorente in the final of the tournament

England rugby star Anthony Watson defeated Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi by a huge margin to progress to the NBA2K19 Gaming Tournament final, where he will face Tottenham’s Fernando Llorente.

Watson chose to play as the Washington Wizards, who will be travelling to London in January for the NBA London Game 2019 presented by Norwegian, whilst Mustafi opted for the Utah Jazz.

Watson dominated from the start with the help of some explosive dunks from John Wall and a masterclass in shooting from Bradley Beal. The 24-year-old wing was up by as many as 13 points as the first half drew to a close. Mustafi tried to close the gap in the second half with a few strong dunks from Jazz forward Derrick Favors but the German international was resigned to defeat, despondently saying: “I told everyone I would be taking the trophy home.”

Philadelphia 76ers fan Watson said after the game: “John Wall was cooking with gas. That’s how we roll.”

Mustafi was unable to make it an Arsenal vs Tottenham final and instead it will be Anthony Watson going up against Fernando Llorente. Watson, who was victorious in the 2016 competition, will be vying for victory against the Spanish striker.
