Barcelona used a big fourth quarter to beat Real Madrid 86-69 in the first of the Liga Endesa el’clasico’s this season.

Barcelona used an 18-5 run in the first seven minutes of the last period to pull away from the reigning EuroLeague champions who were without Sergio Llull for the legendary fixture.

Kyle Kuric led the way for Barca with 16 points plus a dagger three with three minutes left in the final period that gave the Catalan side an 81-64 cushion and put the game beyond any doubt.

Jaycee Carroll paced Real with 12 points as they slump to their second loss of the season.

As a result, Barcelona is now alone at the top of the Liga Endesa standings with a 9-1 record.
