Zalgiris Kaunas head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius spoke with the media and referred to the shot clock malfunction in Moscow on Wednesday.
Here is what the Lithuanian coach said:
On the incident with the shot clock: “It’s unpleasant, of course, it’s unpleasant. But the committees have to deal with it now. I know that we will talk about it because such things can not happen in 2018. The club is preparing a statement, legally respond to everything, there are some committees that they will decide.”
On whether they noticed what happened: “I did not notice. The referees also did not notice it, as usually the clock is closely observed until the attacking team passes the center of the court.
I think Leo (Westermann) reacted very well, because we were arranged to run a set play, but Leo noticed the situation and changed the play. It made me wonder why this happened, but he said he did not have time. Only after the match we found out why it happened.”
On whether it had an effect on the outcome of the game (CSKA Moscow won by two in overtime, 99-97): “Of course, it absolutely did in that particular play.”
