Fenerbahce power forward Nicolo Melli talked to TalkBasket.net, moments after his team’s victory over Olympiacos in Piraeus on Thursday (72-73).

Here is what the 27-year-old player said:

On what was the key to the victory: “We played as a team, we knew it would be a tough game. But, even in difficult moments, we stayed there and we played defence. It was tough, but we handled the game.”

On Kostas Sloukas: “For him it was a special game, he doesn’t have anything against Olympiacos. It is just a big game for him, he had been waiting for this game.

His reaction was for him, because he wanted to play well. We won, he was the best and I am double happy for him.”

On the following games and Fenerbahce’s difficult schedule: “It’s a very difficult schedule. We don’t play in the Turkish League this weekend, so we have two days to recover.

Every EuroLeague game is tough. We play against Darussafaka and Maccabi Tel-Aviv and every double week in the competition is tough. But, we are a good group and hope we will show it again next week.”
