Panathinaikos might be playing competing in the Greek A1 play-offs and getting ready for the most crusial games of the season against their arch-rivals Olympiakos but that doesn’t deter their management to plan their future team.
According to the Greek website Sport-FM, Panathinaikos is following closely on Marc Gasol, the current ACB MVP. The Greek website itself sites an unknown Spanish media as their source, but more will be known in the following few hours.
Marc Gasol has been playing for Girona on loan for the past two seasons from Barcelona, but will be a free agent this summer, although Barcelona can acquire him automatically if they match the highest bid for him.
But as the past few days proved, Barcelona is hardly orgnised and wealthy enough to encounter Euroleague’s elite clubs such as CSKA Moscow and Panathinaikos.
The young brother of NBA super star Pau Gasol reached ULEB Cup Final this season. Akasvayu lost 54-79 against Joventut in the final. Marc Gasol averaged 13.6 points per game in ULEB Cup. He scores 16.2 poins per game in Spanish ACB league.
