Olympiacos released an official statement and will request the ejection of Giannakopoulos and Panathinaikos from the EuroLeague.

The “Reds” reacted to Dimitris Giannakopoulos allegations that Olympiacos tried to bribe two of the referees of the match between the two clubs on Friday night.

Consequently, the team will ask for the ejection of both Panathinaikos and Dimitris Giannakopoulos from the competition.

Here is the “Reds” official statement:

“Yesterday’s official position of Dimitris Giannakopoulos and Panathinaikos BC regarding a supposed bribe attempt of EuroLeague referees Mr. Paternico and Μρ. Zamojski by our team, goes beyond all boundaries of lying and slander.

From our side, we state that we will immediately proceed to every legal action to fully restore the truth and crystal-clear public image of Olympiacos BC, appealing to Greek courts and district attorneys.

Apart from that, through a letter that will be sent to Mr. Bertomeu and by filing a complaint to the EuroLeague Sport Judge, we will ask for the immediate reapplication of the punishments that have been imposed to repeated offender Dimitris Giannakopoulos and the ejection of him and Panathinaikos BC from the competition, according to the clear regulations of the EuroLeague charter and disciplinary code.

The exemplary disciplinary and legal punishment of the vile sycophant Dimitris Giannakopoulos and Panathinaikos BC is now a one-way road.”
