Panathinaikos triumphed in the Greek derby

Panathinaikos outscored Olympiacos 52-32 in the second half and rallied past the “Reds” in the Greek derby (93-80).

Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Lukas Lekavicius were the game changers for the “Greens”, as they helped the team shift the momentum.

The Greek forward scored 12 points and played incredible defence, with the Lithuanian guard posting a team-high 17 points, on 7/13 shooting. Nick Calathes had 14 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

On the other hand, Giorgos Printezis was unstoppable for the losing squad, with a game-high 26 points, on 10/12 shooting. Janis Timma added 17 points, on 5/6 from beyond the arc.

The “Reds” had control of the game from the beginning and closed the first half in front by seven (41-48).

The “Greens” responded, though, and played very well on both ends of the floor to turn things around. The hosts outscored their opponents 52-32 in the second half and never looked back.

The visitors tried to remain competitive, but they were vulnerable defensively and conceded many easy baskets that cost them the victory.

Panathinaikos earned their fourth victory in six games (4-2), whereas Olympiacos lost for the third time this season (3-3).
