Andrey Vatutin talked to the Russian website TASS and referred to the game against Olympiacos and Vassilis Spanoulis.

Here is what the president of CSKA Moscow said:

On the Muscovites’ win over Olympiacos (69-65): “Thanks to the fans, thanks to the team. The guys who played a little – Misha Kulagin, Andrei Vorontsevich – came out and contributed.

We didn’t talk about it before the match, but Nando De Colo couldn’t practice at all and today he couldn’t play. We won a difficult game, because at first nothing worked, and to beat coach David Blatt is a positive sign.”

On Vassilis Spanoulis: “If CSKA players are afraid of Spanoulis, then they can’t play in the EuroLeague. Spanoulis is not afraid to play in the Euroleague. The game turned out to be awesome, as it always happens with Olympiacos.

With all due respect to our previous opponents, this was the first serious test of the EuroLeague season, as we expected. The match turned out worthy of a “Final Four” contest and we won thanks to an excellent team effort.”
