ImageIn a letter personally signed by its president Patrick Baumann, FIBA has given Ukrainian club Azovmash Mariupol a deadline until December 21st, 2009 to compensate their former player Remon Van de Hare in full or else they could be even kicked out of Eurocup.

The dutch international had joined Azovmash last season signing a three years contract but was later dimissed by the club in mid-season. The player sued the club to FAT (FIBA arbitral tribunal) in order to get compensated in full for all three years of the contract.

Although FIBA ruled in favour of the player Azovmash has yet to comply with the ruling and has not paid the player. The club had even appealed against the decision in CAS (Tribunal Arbitral du Sport) in Switzerland but again lost the case.

Therefore FIBA has sent a letter to the club threatening them with a 100.000 euros fine, ban from signing non-Ukrainian players and even kicking them out of the current Eurocup tournament in which they take part.
